COPINGS

The elements in glazed stoneware are solid, obtained by vacuum extrusion from argillaceous materials and water, mixed together beforehand in well-balanced quantities. After drying, the materials are baked and handled progressively in the oven + de 1200 ºC following an adapted process.

The elements are completely salt-varnished with mass colouration resulting in the tint "lie de vin". The water absorption is less than 2%. The dimensional stability, the resistance against UV rays and acids are exceptional. Maintenance is not required.

The bottom side of the copings is equipped with dovetail joints for a maximal mounting.

These elements with simple or double gradient with a useful length of 33 cm (36 cm with overlap) are installed in a full mortar bed and protrude laterally in order to form a weather-moulding. The overlapping joints are executed with a silicone-based product or a special joint purpose mortar. The thickness of the wall that has to be covered determines the length of the format of the copings. All accessories are of the same nature and origin as the basic elements.

WINDOW SILLS

The elements in glazed stoneware are solid, obtained by vacuum extrusion from argillaceous materials and water, mixed together beforehand in well-balanced quantities. After drying, the materials are baked and handled progressively in the oven + de 1200 ºC following an adapted process.

The elements are completely salt-varnished with mass colouration resulting in the tint "lie de vin". The water absorption is less than 2%. The dimensional stability, the resistance against UV rays and acids are exceptional. Maintenance is not required.

The bottom side of the window sills is equipped with dovetail joints for a maximal mounting.

These elements without overlap with a length of 16 cm are installed in a full mortar bed and protrude laterally in order to form a weather-moulding. The transversal joints are executed with a silicone-based product or a special joint purpose mortar. The thickness of the wall that has to be covered determines the length of the format of the sills.

RIDGE TILES

The elements in glazed stoneware are solid, obtained by vacuum extrusion from argillaceous materials and water, mixed together beforehand in well-balanced quantities. After manual retouches for certain formats and after drying, the materials are baked and handled progressively in the oven + de 1200 ºC following an adapted process.

The elements are completely salt-varnished with mass colouration resulting in the tint "Anthracite" (cognac brown on demand). The water absorption is less than 2 %.

The dimensional stability, the resistance against UV rays and acids are exceptional. Maintenance is not required.

These elements with an angular profile to overlap a length of 25 cm (28 cm with overlap) have an angle inferior to at least 10º in comparison with the angle formed by the two gradients of the covering. The installation and joining of the overlap is done by a special elastic product on silicone base.

The mechanical fixings for the foreseen drillings are in stainless steel, copper or tongue. All accessories are of the same nature and origin as the basic elements.

DESCRIPTION FOR THE SPECIFICATIONS

  • The tiling of the roof will be executed with salt-varnished vitrified flat clay tiles with the following format: 170/270/9 mm.

    The colouring is complete (dark mass for "ANTHRACITE")

    Baking temperature reaches at least 1,200 °C.

    Unital Weight is 1 kg.

    Water absorption is less than 2.3%, offers a maximum weight per m² of 58 kg. (uncovered part of 10 cm).

    Resistance to flexion is higher than 1,380 N.

    Resistance to frost is absolute and the resistance to chemical agents and UV rays is exceptional. Available colours are: "TETE DE NEGRE" and "ANTHRACITE".

TILES AND ACCESSOIRIES ARE CONFORM THE NBN EN 1304

All auxiliary pieces are of the same nature and origin as the tiles, i.e.:

  • all tiles of a different format;
  • ventilation tiles;
  • wall tiles;
  • ridge tiles and the initial or end pieces;
  • ventilation ridge tiles;
  • hip tiles.

Samples will be submitted for approval. The tiles will be placed according to the instructions of the STCC (Belgian Scientific & Technical Centre for the Construction Industry), i.e. NBN B41-001 and NBN B42-002. The contractor will use tiles from different pallets simultaneously in order to spread the shades which are intrinsic to the natural process of salt-varnishing. In order to avoid dust accumulation between the vertical tile joints, the tiles will be spaced at 5 mm. The mechanical fixations are in stainless steel, copper or tongue.

AQUA-TREK

OTHER ADVANTAGES

  • 100 % static: no part moves;
  • Embellishes the chimney pot;
  • Resistant to acids: salt-varnished glazed stoneware (baked at high temperatures: higher than 1,200 °C). Exceptional material which has won its spurs. Durable and inert in time. Does not turn colour.
  • Large lateral over-measure openings;
  • Ample bent collar facilitating installation and preventing infiltration through joints;
  • Aesthetic: simplicity and sobriety of forms.

DESCRIPTION FOR THE SPECIFICATIONS

The cornice of every chimney pot or ventilation duct consists of the placing of an AQUA-TREK anti-backlash hood in full mortar bed. This cylindrical device, made of salt-varnished glazed stoneware is equipped with:

  • a lid;
  • lateral openings;
  • an external collar;
  • an internal slot for water drainage towards the exterior.

The profile and the height of the tube will determine those of the device.
